In conjunction with leading back care specialists we have done our best to design what we have confidently called
The Perfect Mattress™. This mattress has been manufactured with our detailed specifications
to produce a mattress we can sell confidently in the knowledge that it will not damage
the well-earned reputations of our specialist retailers.
The Perfect Mattress changes shape as you move, thus giving support to those parts of your
body which are in contact with the mattress. This adds to your overall comfort but is
particularly important to your spine, ensuring it is correctly positioned.
The Perfect Mattress™ is now even more comfortable! We are always
looking for improvements in all of the products we sell. Now, after three years with the original version of the
Perfect Mattress™, new technology has enabled us to make it even better.
NB: The Perfect Mattress™ can only be perfect by today’s technology. Tomorrow? Well, new
technology may improve on perfection.
At the present time there are two models of The Perfect Mattress™ available:
See below for sizes:

When lying on a conventional mattress the mattress will create pressure on many different parts of the body including your knees, hips, back, shoulders and arms, leaving some parts of the body unsupported. This pressure and lack of support for the body is what tends to cause discomfort while sleeping and is one of the main reasons people tend to wake up with a stiff and sore body if they are generally well.
For people with back problems this can lead to them waking up in the night or
constantly having to readjust their body. In most instances this only shifts the pressure
temporarily to another part of the body and so this process of constantly readjusting can
go on all night.
Memory Foam Mattresses are different to conventional mattresses as they react to the
pressure from your body rather than making your body react to them, as is the case with
conventional mattresses.
The properties of Memory Foam have made it especially useful for mattresses, helping to relieve pressure points on the body when lying down. As the body moves to different positions Memory Foam Mattresses respond automatically and re-mould exactly to the new position. For nearly all people Memory Foam Mattresses will reduce the amount of turning required when sleeping. For back pain sufferers and other people with sleep related problems this can make the world of difference.

The Outlast® Mattress Cover is designed to keep your body comfortable all night through the use of patented micro-encapsulated Thermocules™. This technology is designed to absorb and release heat dependent on your body temperature...not too hot…not too cold…just right®.
Research led to the use of 55 kg/m3 memory foam with the
Perfect Mattress™ as this density of foam was found to be ideal
for back care and also not too dense so as to trap heat.
One of the properties of Memory Foam is reaction to heat
from any source that is in contact with it. When Memory Foam
heats up it expands and this can reduce the ability of the foam
to ventilate air properly. If the density of the foam is too high
this has the effect of reducing the size of the air holes within
the foam structure, which can lead to heat getting trapped
within the structure causing overheating.
Memory Foam Density is measured in kg/m3 . Simply put:
If a sample of Memory Foam has a density of 50 kg/m3 a 1
metre cube of this sample would weigh 50kg. Memory Foam
density can sometimes be used to determine the quality of
the Memory Foam.
55 kg/m3 Memory Foam by itself would be too soft to make
a 20cm mattress. Without a supportive core base layer a
Memory Foam mattress doesn't work well because you are likely to sink
too far and find it difficult to be comfortable. This is why we
use a comfort layer of 55kg/m3 on top of a supportive core
base layer made of high quality PUI.
The PUI Base Layer has channels running through it that
improve ventilation and allow the mattress to deal with heat
efficiently. These castellations are designed to channel heat
away from top layer of the mattress and prevent the memory
foam from overheating.
The combination of comfort and support found in our Perfect
Mattress is what makes our mattress, well...perfect!
